Daniel Danforth Webster was born on December 3, 1806, in Ames, New York, the only child of Ezekiel and Matilda. He married Jane Malick in 1830 in Schoharie, New York. They had eight children in 17 years. He died on May 10, 1892, in Ossian, Iowa, having lived a long life of 85 years, and was buried in Winneshiek, Iowa.
