    Daniel was born in Blind River Ontario. He was raised with 8 siblings. His mother Mary Lamoureux, Lawmorie, died when Daniel was only 14 years old. It is believed that Daniel moved to Sault Ste. Marie MI., to live with an aunt named: Harriett Chinault (nee Causley). Daniel was married twice. First wife was Ellen May Crandall. She was born 12/24/1918 in Nebraska and died 12/14/2005 in Lakewood, Los Angeles. They had one son. He then married his second wife Corine Chiasson born 02/19/1894 in Louisiana and died 05/02/1975 in Lake Charles, Calcasieu Louisiana. They were married Feb 12 1954 in Calcasieu, Louisiana, USA.

    JENNINGS - Funeral services for Daniel Steven Causley, 66, of Lake Charles were to be at 2 p.m. today (May 22) in Miguez Funeral Home. The Rev. Lawrence M. King, pastor of Eastdale Baptist Church of Lake Charles, was to officiate. Burial was to be in Greenwood Cemetery here. Mr. Causley died at 8:10 a.m. Wednesday in a Lake Chales hospital. He was a retired cook, a member of the Eastdale Baptist ' Church and a veteran of World I War II. Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Corine Chasson Causley; one stepson. Nelson Guillury of Lake Charles; five grandchildren, and six great - grandchildren.

In 1903, in the year that Daniel Stephen Causley was born, the silent film, The Great Train Robbery opened. Although it was filmed in Milltown, New Jersey, it was a Western. Twelve minutes long, the film used a lot of innovative techniques - some scenes were hand colored and composite editing, on-location shooting, and frequent camera movement were used. Its budget was $150 (about $4000 currently) and was the most popular film until 1915 when Birth of a Nation was released.
