    The Daily Telegraph. Sydney. 11th October 1922. LEIX. - On October 10th, at Manly, accidentally drowned, David, son of Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Leix, of Croydon. The Australasian. Melbourne. 14th October 1922. David Henry Leix, aged 14 years, of Edwin street, Croydon, was drowned at Manly. Leix, who was a school boy attended a picnic with his relatives, and when swimming, got into difficulties. Another swimmer attempted to save the boy, but Leix sank before help reached him.
