He had siblings Mary Elizabeth Walker, Amy Florence Walker, William Samuel Walker, Elsie Muriel Walker, William Samuel Walker, and Amy Florence Walker. He married Ada May Hanson in 1914, and had children Keith Howie Walker, Keith Howie Walker, and Marjorie Merle Walker. David Walker died at age 60 years old in 1942 in Watta.

In 1882, in the year that David Howie Walker was born, on January 5th, writer and lawyer Charles J. Guiteau was found guilty of the assassination of President Garfield. Guiteau was "offended" because his job applications had been rejected by Garfield's government. He was sentenced to death -although his lawyer plead insanity - and hanged five months later, on June 30th.
