David W. Mckelvey was born on June 9, 1822. He married Eliza (Fridley) McKelvey, and they had children Winfield McKelvey, Elmer McKelvey, Lee McKelvey, Roy McKelvey, and Ralph Waldo McKelvey. He married Amanda Francis McKelvey, and they had a child John McKelvey. He married Amanda Catherine (Koontz) McKelvey, and they had children Rose Arabella McKelvey, William H. McKelvey, Lambert McKelvey, Belva McKelvey, Auda McKelvey, and Jesse McKelvey. David Mckelvey died at age 79 years old on January 12, 1902, and was buried in Shannon City, Ringgold County, Iowa United States.

Please contact me with any information about David's parents or ancestors. He may have been orphaned and adopted around 1831, at age 9. No adoption records have been found, only a typed note from his son Jesse McKelvey (b.1876/d.1969).
