David Marquardt was my grandfather. I was only 4 years old when he passed away, but the memories I have of him are still very vivid. I remember that I would always sit on his lap and he would read to me at my grandparent's dinner table at my grandma's old house. From the memories I do have, I know he was a good man and I wish I could have grown up with him. I know he would've been really proud of me.
