Obituary

Debra Kay Kollar, 61, of Hammond, Indiana, went to Heaven on Thursday, October 27, 2016. She is survived by her husband, Doug; their children: Anna, Stephen (Alisha), Amber, and Andrew; their 10 grandchildren and one more on the way. Debby’s sweet spirit was a blessing to so many and she appreciated every day of life that the Lord gave to her. Even in her weakened state, due to her health, she made it a point to brighten someone else’s day. Debby and Doug met while they were both serving in the US Navy. After they were married and started a family, Debby enjoyed her life as a wonderful wife and mother. Debby and Doug were an integral part of the First Baptist Church of Hammond’s Sailor Ministry during the 1980’s. They enjoyed being able to minister to the sailors of the Great Lakes Naval Base every weekend. A viewing will be held on Monday, October 31, 2016 from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. at Memory Lane Funeral Home, 6305 W. Lincoln Highway (US 30), Crown Point, Indiana. The funeral will be on Tuesday, November 1, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home with a one-hour visitation prior to the start of the service. Full military honors will be rendered at the burial in Memory Lane Memorial Park Veteran’s section.
