    She was my sister and a good person who was ruined by heroin addiction. I loved her, as did her sister, Lori SHAUGHNESSY. Her father Bill WHALEN, was a maggot but her step-dad, Earl Shaughnessy, loved her like his own and raised her. She had a daughter at 15, placed for adoption. She later had a son, Peter GARMA, with her husband, Greg GARMA. Her mom and step-dad are buried at GG National Veterans Cemetery. Denise was buried in a pauper's grave somewhere in San Francisco.
