    Snyder's memorial DEREK W. WHISTINE Derek Wayne Whistine, 27, 2701 S. Roan St., died Friday, August 18, 2000 in Johnson City. He was a native of Johnson City, where he had lived most of his life. Mr. Whistine was a son of John "Pete" Whistine and Dorothy Ellis Bittinger, both of Johnson City. He was owner of Abstract Vinyl Siding. Mr. Whistine was a member of Fellowship Community Church. He was preceded in death by his stepfather, Joseph Bittinger, three uncles, and one cousin. Survivors, in addittion to his parents, include his wife, Leesha Cox Whistine, Gray; one daughter, Cheyenned Whistine, Gray; one son, Dekota Wayne Whitine, Gray; his stepmother, Debbie Whistine, Johnson City; two sisters, Julia Bittininger and Shirley Whistine, both of Johnson City; one brother, Dusty Whistine, Johnson City; and his maternal grandmother, Mildred Ellis, Johnson City. The family will receive friends from 6 - 7 tonight at Fellowship Community Church, 430 E. Fourth Ave., Watauga, with a memorial service following The Rev. Ken Hauser will officiate.
