  • Introduction

    My father was a marine and always a marine since he was drafted. He battled his way through two tours of Vietnam. Tried to go back for a third but was not allowed. He was a hunter a fisherman and a hard worker. Worked at Bethlehem steel till they shut down. Then he layed asphalt roads. Was a heavy drinker, but a decent man when he was sober. Built muscle cars and motorcycles. I was to little to remember that. Had many friends and family members. I could go on and on. But he was my hero, when he wasent abusive or drunk. I always wanted to be a marine, I screwed that up. But he was my hero. Through my eyes my father was a the toughest s.o.b. on the planet. And was killed by one of his organs exploding and poisoning his body, go figure. He is missed.

I want to know what his war experience was like what did he do? What did he see? How did he kill, and why was he labeled an engineer which was a minesweeper, but he carried a bar machine gun?
