Dexter aka my dad was a great man with many friends and family that loved him. His family moved from Orfino, Idaho area to Thompson Falls. Where he met the woman he would marry and forever spend his life. My mom Aka Lorraine Thurman Grimm. They had 3 kids together Curtis born Aug 30, 1964 , Kevin born May 8, 1967 & Tia born June 9, 1973. As a young man he found his talent in repairing cars. In which he mastered his skills in auto body & paint. For over 20 yrs he successfully had his own business. Known as Dexter's Body Shop located 10 miles West of Thompson Falls, Mt. At the age of 14 he picked up his first guitar and he never put it down. He taught himself to play by ear and never learned to read music. His wife and he joined Ray Geldridge and in 1977 the band known as "The Plainsman" was born. Dexter on lead guitar and vocals, Lorraine on Bass guitar backup vocals & Ray on drums and Vocals. They were a country western favorite dance band around. With a loyal group of fans that would never miss a night they played wherever they played. For 2 consecutive years they were booked ever Friday and Saturday night at the Plains VFW. They packed the bar every night too. Finally Dexter along with his wife moved to Sandpoint ,Idaho to be with his kids and grandkids. They soon bought a small piece of heaven on earth on lakeshore drive in Sagle and he lived out his life happy and free surrounded by family and loved deeply. Until we meet again your funny stories and great sense of humor and kind heart will always be here with us. Forever loved and never forgotten is my Dad!
