My grandfather, Dick Tjepkema, was a proud Dutch farmer who was married to Anna, and raised 6 wonderful Christian children, Hilda, Richard, Tina, Ray, Agnus & Sam. He owned several acres of rich farmland and was very prosperous as a farmer, gardener and businessmen. He was a leader in his community and a faithful citizen of his new country. He and his wife spoke the Dutch language most often, but learned English quite quickly as their children entered school. My grandpa usually had a smile on his face and an open lap to sit on for us grandkids. We love you Grandpa!
