Dixie Marie (Kirkham) King was born on May 18, 1926 in Holstein, Ida Co County, IA to Marie Bruckner and Harry Bladen Kirkham, and had a brother Douglas H Kirkham Sr. She married Charles A King on July 29, 1944 in Macon, GA, and they were married until Dixie's death on February 23, 2007. She had children Sandra (King) Reineke, Sharon (King) Johannes, and Susan (King) Gallagher. Dixie King was buried on March 10, 2007 at Lakeside Cemetery in Fairmont, Martin Co County, MN.
