Donald Eugene Heacock was born on April 19, 1932 in Nesopeck, Luzerne County, Pennsylvania United States to Renna Matilda Heacock and Warren Andrew Heacock, and had a sister Charlotte Matilda Karchner. He married Joanne Marie Heacock on October 24, 1952 in Berwick, Columbia County, and they were married until Donald's death on April 5, 2020 at Berwick Hospital Center 701 East 16th Street, in Berwick. He had children Bradley James Heacock, Jacklyn Leigh Travelpiece, and Randy Eugene Heacock. Donald Heacock was buried on August 15, 2020 at Pine Grove Cemetery Annex E 16th St, in Berwick.

    Rev. Donald E. Heacock,87, of Berwick went Home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Sunday April 5,2020 at Berwick Hospital. He was born April 19,1932 in Nescopeck,a son of the late Warren and Renna (Keller) Heacock. He graduated from Nescopeck High School class of 1951 and then went to Wesley United Methodist Seminary in Washington D.C. to become a Licensed Local Pastor. The Lord Jesus Christ was Donald's treasured possession. He loved the Lord with all his heart. Donald's greatest legacy is that he passed his love for Jesus onto his family. Donald also shared his love for the Lord with others entering the ministry as a United Methodist pastor in 1980 and serving full-time until 1997. In his retirement,he continued to serve the Lord as substitute pastor,visitation pastor,Sunday School teacher and Berwick Hospital Chaplain. Donald also served on the board of Ministry of Missionary for 37 years. Donald's second love was his wife,children,grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He faithfully loved his wife Joanne for 67 years. He loved spending time with his wife,children,grandchildren camping,sitting around campfires,and sharing stories. Donald is survived by his wife the former M. Joanne Garrison whom he married October 24,1952,three children; Bradley Heacock wife Cynthia of Berwick,Jaclyn Travelpiece husband Terry of Wapwallopen,Randy Heacock wife Nancy of Warrington,PA,eight grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. Donald was preceded in death by his parents,as well as his daughter Mary Jane Heacock at birth,and sister Charlotte Karchner. He served in the United States Navy during the Korean War,where he received the Good Conduct Medal,Rifle Expert,and the Korean War National Defense Service Medal. Donald enjoyed sports and the outdoors. He particularity loved softball pitching in the Berwick Fast Pitch Softball league,and enjoyed baseball as a Phillies fan. He enjoyed fishing in his younger years,but really enjoyed deer hunting with his friends and family at the Hunting Camp. A Memorial Service will be held Saturday,August 15,at Bethany UM Church of Berwick. Visitation for family and friends will start 11:30 A.M. with the Mennonite Service to follow at 12:00 P.M. The family requests that donations given in Donald's memory be sent to Ministry to Missionaries,145 Dohl Rd.,Berwick,PA 18603.
