    Donald William Warnock was born to Donald Smith Warnock (1916 - 2000) and Virginia Bittles (born 1920). He had siblings Suzanne and M.J. Warnock. Donald Warnock first married Robin J. Drake in March of 1969 in Montville Township, New Jersey. They had a son and a daughter, Robert and Bethanie. He then married Margaret J. Lombardi on July 27, 1985 in Morristown, New Jersey. See Donald W Warnock: Obituary. Donald was a veteran of World War II, in charge of liberating four prisoner-of-war camps as well as being involved with liberating the concentration camp, Dachau.     Donald was a veteran of World War II: he enlisted in the 102nd Cavalry in 1940, then in the 33rd Cavalry, 20th Armored Division. While with the 33rd, he commanded a small task force which was responsible for liberating four prisoner-of-war camps. He also led a force into Dachau concentration camp. He was discharged with the rank of Captain.

    Donald was associated with the Spring Mills division of Fieldcrest and then became vice president of sale at United Merchants and Manufacturers in New York City. He was secretary and treasurer of the Warnock Automotive Group from 1979 until he retired in 1998.

    The following obituary appeared in the Daily Record on March 14, 1995 on page 8: WARNOCK, Donald W., age 44, of New Vernon, N.J., on March 11, 1995. Beloved husband of Margaret (Lombardi) Warnock. Devoted father of Robert D. Warnock of Bernardsville, New Jersey, and Bethanie W. Dattolo of Rockaway, New Jersey. Son of Donald S. and Virginia Warnock of New Vernon and brother of Suzanne W. Merkt of Brookside, New Jersey. Liturgy of Christian Burial Wednesday, March 15, 1995 at 10 a.m. in the Church of Christ the King, Blue Mill Road, New Vernon, New Jersey. Entombment in Somerset Hills Mausoleum, Basking Ridge. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory to the Donald Warnock Fund for Pediatric Epilepsy, PO Box 349, East Hanover N.J. would be appreciated. Relatives and friends may visit at the Gallaway and Crane Funeral Home.
