Dora was a strong, hard working, independent woman born in 1944. Her immediate family (siblings/parents) had difficulty in keeping close in contact, although what I have posted is what is known. She was born to Edna, and was grand daughter to Abbie Small (Edna's mother). Fathers names are unknown and that has made it difficult to access or apply any further information. It is said that the family is Caucasian and Native American, specifically Mic Mac tribe and Cherokee tribe. She had five children, two boys and three girls. She worked in a potato factory for many years and was a bar tender prior to that. She was married to Clifford L Elwell and divorced. Dora received her first grandchild in 1981 and had approximately 15 grandchildren at the time of her death in 1997. She was an avid bingo player and played any chance she could get. She also enjoyed going to the horse races at the Bangor Raceway. She was surrounded by all of her loved ones in her home when she passed away, as she had requested.
