Doris was born in the south, learning to swim by crossing the Mississippi river holding on to her dad's back for dear life.

Doris was spiritual. She believed in the bible and was very humble.

Doris served in WW2 as a riveter, that was a common occupation for women during the war.

Doris worked for GM before moving to Oregon. Back then lower level employees weren't allowed to own Caddillacs! She worked at a Mill in Eugene Oregon where she met her second husband, Ray Shoush. They both also served in the military.

Doris and her husband loved the outdoors and their family. They were the salt of the earth.
