I remember she would hold my hand and wrap her jacket cuff around my hand when it was cold outside. I remember every single assembly at school she was always there and I remember looking for her in the audience and when I found her I felt comfort. I remember her catering to my picky pallet. I remember my sister's friends coming to the house to visit my Mom and not my sisters. I remember she was our glue

Dorothy Gomez was born on November 14, 1938 to Juan Sebastian Cortez and Marie Cortez (Vanek), and had siblings Linda Lee Cortez, Christine Navarro, Donald Cortez, Eleanor Fabs, and Dita Quiroz. She married Conrado G. Gomez, and had children Debi Flom, Gregory Conrad Gomez, Mary Alice Surillo, Rebecca Michelle Gomez, and Melissa Lee Gomez. Dorothy Gomez died at age 47 years old in October 1986.
