Early Life & Education

Dee spent 3 years living in Guam 1946-1949 her adoptive father Wickliffe was in the navy so she attended grammar school there. Upon her return to the states the family settled in Hayward CA where Dee attended public school graduating from Hayward High in 1954.
Professional Career

Dee worked for Pacific Bell (telephone) starting in the Hayward office as a long distant operator. She transferred to the Traffic Management office (dial administration) in Hayward after 3 or 4 years becoming a manager in a short time. In 1970 she transferred to engineering in San Jose she relocated to SJ the following year. She retired at 55 with 35 years of service.
Personal Life & Family

Dee enjoyed bowling and belonged to the women’s telco league she went to the playoffs in Reno several times. She rolled one 300 game in non league practice.

Dee was born to Dorothy J. Jackson on Valentines Day 1935 in Baltimore MD. When she was six years old her mother married Mr. Wickliffe he later adopted her. Mr. Wickliffe was serving in the Navy, when WWII ended he was sent to Guam and his wife and daughter lived with him there for three years. Following this they relocated to Hayward CA where Dee graduated from Hayward High School in 1954. She then worked for Pacific Telephone in the Hayward B St. Office until 1971 when she transferred to Engineering in San Jose she moved to San Jose the following year. She worked in SJ until the company opened their San Ramon office in the late 1980s. She retired in 1990 with 35 years of service. Cause of death was ALS.
