AVERBACK , Dorothy Wayne (80), born Feb. 4, 1926, died peacefully in her sleep on Dec. 23, 2006. Predeceased by the love of her life, Hy Averback, loving mother Ruth Bridges and Brother Howard Bridges. Beloved mother of Amy, Joel and Marcus. Grandmother of Evan Andrew. And Annie, her Westie companion whose spirit and loyalty helped her immeasurably to endure and enjoy her final years of life. A resilient and luminous beauty inside and out, Dorothy was always honest, wise, thoughtful and compassionate to everyone. Her kindness and generosity knew no bounds to all who had the privilege of knowing her. In lieu of flowers, family suggests that donations be made in her name to the Motion Picture Country Home in Woodland Hills.
