DWIGHT HOLT OBITUARY HOLT Mr. Dwight Gilbert Holt, of 550 Creek View Lane, Clarksville, Virginia, died Tuesday, May 15, 2007 at the home of his mother, 6149 Howard P. Anderson Road, Crystal Hill, Virginia. He was born in Halifax County, Virginia, on March 25, 1945 and was 62 years of age. He was the son of the Lillie Brown Lewis and the late James (Shorty) Lewis and was married to Marianne Canada Holt. Mr. Holt was a former member of the Crystal Hill Southern Baptist Church. He was an avid golfer and bowler, and enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Mr. Dwight Gilbert Holt is survived by his wife, Marianne Canada Holt of Clarksville, Va.; two daughters, Brandie Holt Fand and husband, Brian, of Midlothian, Va. and Candis Holt Thomas and husband, Jeremy, of Hopewell, Va.; his mother, Lillie Brown Lewis of Crystal Hill, Va.; two brothers, Ranny Holt and wife, Becky, of Richmond, Va. and Matt Lewis and wife, Diane, of Richmond, Va.; two half-brothers, Jack Holt of Nathalie, Va. and Ricky Holt of Richmond, Va.; and one half-sister, Yvonne Council of Richmond, Va. He was preceded in death by his father, James (Shorty) Lewis. Funeral services for Mr. Dwight Gilbert Holt will be held Friday, May 18, 2007 at 2 p.m. at Crystal Hill Southern Baptist Church, with the Rev. Frank Trexler, the Rev. Bob Hurd, and the Rev. Ed Grifin officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday from 7 until 8:30 p.m. at Powell Funeral Home, and other times at the home of his mother, 6149 Howard P. Anderson Road, Crystal Hill, Virginia. For memorials please consider the Halifax Regional Hospice, 2204 Wilborn Avenue, South Boston, Va. 24592 or the Halifax County Cancer Association, Post Office Box 875, South Boston, Va. 24592.
