Ross, Dylan Atticus Dylan Atticus Ross, Austin, died June 15, 2011. Dylan was born August 15, 1987. Musician, poet, enigma, carpenter, bartender, inventor of curious gadgets, student of science - ornithology, astronomy, evolution, quantum mechanics, boy wonder, sharp dressed man, wry prankster, polemicist, skateboarder, lover, gentleman, scholar, working class hero, and rebel with a lot of cause. Dylan was a self taught and trained Renaissance man, whose journey had barely begun. But he did a lot of living in his 23 years on Earth, and left behind enough original recordings to fill several albums. The family invites you to explore his music at

. Born in Fredericksburg, TX, he lived in Austin at the time of his death. He traveled extensively throughout North America, the land he loved, from the rivers to the big cities of Texas, the Grand Canyon, Colorado, New Mexico, Arizona, Canada, Mexico, Big Bend, New Orleans, San Francisco, Las Vegas, South Padre, Mesa Verde, New York City. Beloved son of Dana and Derek Ross, devoted boyfriend to Charmaine Lewis, brother of Maggie Lyn Young, brother-in-law of Nathan H. Young, IV, grandson of Don & Violet Ross, Bunny and Jim Oliver, and David and Patricia Holmstrom, great-grandson of Gladys Noe Douglas, nephew of Marla and James Stacey, Bruce Holmstrom, Peg Maupin, D’Ann Ross, Lorinda Lee, David Ross, Brent Waldock, Don Ross, Jr., Michael Hassan, Kathy and Tom Mitchell, David and Debbie Oliver, Lynn and Jim Oliver, and long time bird-of-a-feather to Beluga. He is deeply missed by us all, and by the many friends and cousins he left behind. We hold onto the words Dylan wrote upon the death of high school friend, Nicole Bryla, he is “but one step ahead.” Dylan and his father snorkeled for hours down the Frio River together. On one trip, Dylan filled a huge bag with trash he picked up a long the way. The family asks that in his honor, do your part to keep our sacred rivers clean. Memorial contributions may be made to the National Audubon Society. We’re so proud of you, son. Keep on rocking in the free world.
