Earl J Devoe of Troy, Rensselaer County, NY was born on December 30, 1938 in Cohoes, Albany County to Melford L DeVoe and Ethel M Beaudoin. Earl Devoe had a brother Richard Lewis DeVoe. He was the parent of Mark Kelp (Devoe -Biological). Earl's partner was Carol Louise (Bauer), and they had children Steven Devoe, Terry (Devoe) Ratigan, and Scott Wayne Devoe. Earl Devoe died at age 64 years old on October 29, 2003 at Saint Mary's Hospital in Troy, Rensselaer County, and was buried at Hillside Cemetery.

Introduction

Earl married Carol Bauer on 19 Oct 1957 in Troy, NY. Three children were born to this union; Steven (son), Terry (daughter) & Scott (son) Devoe. The marriage ended in divorce (finalized 23 Mar 1972). Earl fathered a son with Patricia Baker, he was named Earl John Baker. I was born in 1964 and through Ancestry DNA it is confirmed that Earl is my biological father. I was put up for adoption as an infant. As of (8-2018) I do not know who my biological mother is. Earl married Helen Patricia Hayes 2 Aug 1973 in Bennington, Vermont. There were no children from this union, and also ended in divorce. Later in life Earl met Joan Sullivan and they were together until the time of his death in 2003. Joan had 2 children from a previous relationship Michael & Tracy Sullivan.

Earl Devoe NORTH TROY - Earl J. Devoe, 64, of Third Avenue, died peacefully Wednesday, Oct. 29, 2003, at St. Mary's Hospital following a brief illness. Born in Cohoes, Dec. 30, 1938, he was the son of the late Melford and Ethel M. (Beaudoin) Devoe and the longtime, loving companion and best friend of Joan Sullivan of North Troy, who survives. Educated in the Cohoes City Schools, Mr. Devoe was employed over 20 years as a bus driver by the former Brennan's Bus Company in Cohoes. He retired in 1986. Mr. Devoe was a member of the Moose Lodge of Cohoes. He enjoyed the hobbies of watching NASCAR, the outdoor sports of fishing and hunting and riding his motorcycle. In addition to Ms. Sullivan, he is survived by a brother, William Connors of Watervliet and a sister, Eleanor Wyrshyhora of Cohoes, his two "children," Mrs. Tracy (Michael) Bub of Waterford and Michael Sullivan of North Troy, three "grandchildren," Michael Bub III, Hailey Bub and Michael Sullivan Jr., and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by six brothers and two sisters. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, Nov. 1, 2003 at 11 a.m. at the Howard B. Tate & Son Funeral Home Inc., 2237 NY-7, located in Raymertown, with Rev. Gaylord Campbell officiating. Burial will follow in Hillside Cemetery in Raymertown. Relatives and friends are invited to call at the funeral home on Saturday morning, from 9-11a.m. prior to the funeral service.
