I loved Edith! When she lived at Nazareth, I would often stop in and help her fill out her insurance claims (I was a MetLife agent at that time and I am thinking her coverage was through an employer she had been with in Chicago...Sears, perhaps.) But she would fix a little lunch for us and we would have the nicest afternoons together. I bought many things from her before after she got sick and right before she passed away and I treasure them -- especially the paintings she did herself. I am about to give my daughter, for Christmas, an ink on silk work she did of St. Martin and the Beggar (after El Greco). It is dated 1976 and it is just beautiful! That is what brought Edith to my mind on this night. May she she rest in peace! I loved her.
