Edith Ladysmith Pretoria (Bidgood) Townsend 1900 - c. 1988

Edith Ladysmith Pretoria (Bidgood) Townsend of Auckland, Auckland New Zealand was born on February 27, 1900 in Wood Green, Tottenham County, England United Kingdom to George Bidgood and Louisa J Bidgood. She had siblings William Frederick Peter Bidgood, Albert John Bidgood, Rhoda Edith (Bidgood) Reeves, Winifred Violet Gwendoline (Bidgood) Bhagat, Frances M Bidgood, Albert Victor Bidgood, Sidney Harold Bidgood, Elsie Florence Bidgood, Peter Bidgood, and Elizabeth Rebecca Hicks. Edith was baptized on May 27, 1903 at St Michael's Rectory, Wood Green 1A Selborne Rd, in Greater London County. She married Hector MacDonald Townsend in 1935 in Greater London County, and they were married until Hector's death in 1968. They had children Reginald Victor Townsend, Freda Kesseru, David R Townsend, Daphne Townsend, and John Townsend. Edith's partner was George Bidgood, and they were together until George's death in 1932. They had children Pamela May Taylor and Desmond Roy Bidgood. Edith Townsend died at age 88 years old circa August 1988 in Auckland, Auckland New Zealand.
