Dad's obituary This man fell short of perfect, just as all of us do. He lived a life with mixed results. He was a father to two sons: Patrick (Pat) and Stewart (Stu); and one natural born daughter Stella; and a daughter adopted as a newborn Marisol. Born in his parent's house on Cotton St near the railroad, he grew up with several brothers and sisters. He graduated from Bowie High school, the old Bowie near the border. He really enjoyed playing on the baseball team and a favorite pastime of his was to skate. He had steel wheel skates and taught all of his kids how to skate. Eduardo worked very hard his whole life at many endeavors. Among them, he was married with children and also he was a university student at Texas Western (now University of Texas at El Paso, UTEP). While a student, he worked at White Sands Missile Range. He completed multiple college degrees, among them a BA in English from Texas Western College (UTEP), then a MA in Counseling from UT Austin, and at 60 years old, he earned a MA in English from University of Texas at El Paso, proving that he was still learning. He taught in the El Paso ISD system, high school math, beginning at Bowie High School where he himself had graduated from only 5 years earlier. He later taught at Jefferson High School, Andress High School, Irvin High School. He finished teaching in the Canutillo ISD. After retiring, he continued to teach at the US Army base Fort Bliss. For about ten years, he taught commissioned and non-commissioned officers several subjects: math, Spanish, English, History. He also taught at various private schools in El Paso. There was hardly a time in his life that he wasn't working two or more jobs. He worked nights and weekends for the Marriott Hotel at the airport. He drove a van picking up and dropping off guests as needed. When Eduardo became incapable of caring for himself, his son Stu brought him to Austin Texas. Marisol assisted with the relocation from El Paso to Austin. He resided in a medical nursing home where his received professional medical care for his several conditions. Less than a mile away, he was visited almost daily by his son Stu. In these last two years, Eduardo had many happy times along with very difficult times. He had a strong turn to Christ and he looked forward to the weekly visits from the Catholic Church just across the street. He affirmed and reconfirmed his salvation through the gift given by the Lord Jesus. Although he caught and recovered from covid 19, he succumbed to the after effects of this disease. He was cremated in Austin and his ashes were sprinkled in many of his favorite places both in Austin and in El Paso.

In 1935, in the year that Eduardo Molina was born, on September 8th, Louisiana Senator Huey Long was shot by Dr. Carl Weiss. Weiss was shot and killed immediately by Long's bodyguards - Long died two days later from his injuries. Long had received many death threats previously, as well as threats against his family. He was a powerful and controversial figure in Louisiana politics (and probably gained power through multiple criminal acts). His opponents became frustrated with their attempts to oust him and Dr. Weiss was the son-in-law of one of those opponents. His funeral was attended by 200,000 mourners.
