I met Ed in 1972 at Arctic Blades Ice Rink in Lakewood California, he became a close friend of our family and travelled with us on vacations to the East coast. Ed and I worked together at Crescent Park in Riverside Rhode Island; we were both 16 years old at the time. Ed wanted to be a famous ice skater when he was 16. Ed enlisted in the Military and was stationed at March Air Force Base California; he became an air traffic controller. Ed became my roommate at age 21, we lived in Long Beach on Ocean Blvd. I also moved to Victorville/Apple Valley to live with Ed's mom and Dad for a short while. His Father worked in the construction business with Ed's brothers. After a short stay with Ed's family; we moved in together in a rented house located in Hesperian California on Pine Street. Ed loved to dance, sing and play the piano. I remember one of his bookings at the Pink Flamingo Motel resort in San Diego where he played piano for the guests.
I lost contact with Ed in 1991 while living in San Diego. I searched for him for many years but couldn't locate him. It's now 2014 and I just now came across his obituary...."I am lost for words." Edward will always be remembered in a positive way..."he was part of our family and like a brother to me." Rest in a Peace my dear friend, you are truly missed!
