    Edward Carroll Larkin was born on April 27, 1932 in Brunswick, Shelby, Tennessee, USA to parents William Carroll Larkin (1903-1967) and Mattie Mae Johnson (1911-1999). He grew up in Rural, Arkansas and Memphis, Shelby, Tennessee, USA with his siblings including a brother, William Austin Larkin (1935-2004) and Dorothy (Larkin) Kenny. On July 1, 1952 he married Doris Elaine McClaskie (1934–2012) in Madison, Ohio, USA. The couple remained in Ohio and moved to London, OH. The had children Janet and Phil Larkin. Edward was a veteran of the Korean War and served in the United States Air Force. During his tour of duty, he was stationed at Kempo Air Base near Seoul where he worked in the motor pool. He was also stationed at Lockbourne Air Base, near Columbus, Ohio and Biggs Air Force Base in El Paso, Texas. Edward was employed by the Dial Corporation (Williams Co., Brillo, Purex, and Dial Corporation) from the time of his military discharge to retirement and worked for the company a total of 37 years.
