    His obituary was published in the TIMARU HERALD, 4 JANUARY 1943, PAGE 6 on 4 Jan 1943 Mr Edward D. Bust Well-known in the business and bowling communities of Timaru, Mr Edward Dreweatt Bust died last week after a short illness. Born at Brighton, Melbourne, on January 3, 1861, Mr Bust came to New Zealand with his parents, and as a young man joined the drapery establishment of McGibbon and Co., in Gore. After a time he removed to Dunedin where he was employed by Sargood, Son and Ewan. About 80 years ago, Mr Bust came to Timaru, where he entered into business on his own account as a draper. He retired about 10 years ago. Mr Bust was respected and esteemed by his business associates, and he made a host of friends on many bowling greens throughout the Dominion. Bowling was one of his chief interests outside his family and his business, and in 1919-20 he held office as president of the South Canterbury Bowling Centre and also of the Timaru Club. He was also for some years a member of the South Canterbury Savage Club. Mr Bust, who was predeceased by his wife and family, was buried on Saturday. A short service was conducted at Sewell Bros. Chapel by the Ven. Archdeacon H. W. Monaghan, who also officiated at the graveside. The bearers were members of the Timaru Bowling Club and Mr P. Williams, of Dunedin, a nephew of Mr Bust.
