He married Lucille (Collins) Murray in 1948, and they were married until Edward's death on December 30, 1967. He had children Peggy Murray, Brian Doyle-Murray, Edward Murray III, Nancy Murray, William James Murray, Laura Murray, Andy Murray, John Murray, and Joel Murray. Edward Murray was buried at All Saints Cemetery in Des Plaines.
