    Edward Palenkas, 81, of Scottsdale, born April 11, 1927, in Detroit Mich., passed away August 7, 2008. He will greatly be missed by his loving wife, Sharon; son, Edward M. of Michigan; Darlene Bugbee of Alabama; Deborah Saia (Brion) (cq) of Scottsdale; Brian (Cathy) of Michigan and Rachael Vierthaler (Anton) of Mesa; 13 grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews and friends. One of eight children of John and Katherine Palenkas, he grew up working on the family’s dairy farm and as a teenager served in Japan during WWII in the 1st Calvary. He began a 40-year career in the tool and die business in Mount Clemens, MI, serving as president and CEO of Clover Tool & Manufacturing Co. from 1980-1994. A resident of Arizona since 1984, he was active in the Mountain View Presbyterian Church, the El Zaribah Shrine, and Scottsdale Lodge No. 43, F & A.M. He also belonged to Molsen Shrine Temple in Detroit. He enjoyed cooking ethnic dishes, was a master wood crafter, and writer of poetry. With his wife, Sharon, the two were avid motor home travellers. Visitation will be 5-7 p.m., Monday, Aug. 11 at Mt. View Presbyterian Church. Services will be 10:30 p.m., Tuesday, Aug. 12 at the church. Interment following at Paradise Memorial Gardens Mausoleum.
