    Born Feb 29th in a leap year to Rufus Slocomb and Mary Maxwell in Middlesex Cambridge, Mass, USA. Sailed from Boston. Married briefly to Mary Franklin (dec) circa 1875 in Tasmania. Came to Victoria and married Sarah Jane Healy (daughter of Thomas Healy and Ellen Finelly) in1880 m approx lived in Greeves St Fitzroy and Sth Melbourne They had six children: Benjamin Franklin 1880-1825 served WWI. suffered badly from PTSD, Ethel May 1893 married Max Cameron, Lillian 1885- 197? married George Oppel, Oscar James 1893-1851, Florence, Edward Albert ( Bert) 1896- 1988.
