Edward Veevers of Fitzroy, City of Yarra County, VIC Australia was born in 1871 at Melbourne VIC, Australia in Melbourne to Richard Veevers and Ann Lockhead Veevers. He had siblings Emma Veevers, Frederick Veerers, Ann Veevers Stalker, Alice Veevers, Richard Veevers, Bertha Veevers, and Hannah Veevers. He married Violet Agnes (Murray) Veevers in 1903, and had children Murray Edward Veevers and Kenneth Roy Veevers. Edward Veevers died at age 69 years old in 1940 at Victoria, Australia.

In 1871, in the year that Edward Veevers was born, on October 8th, 4 major fires started on the shores of Lake Michigan - in Chicago (Illinois), Peshtigo (Wisconsin), Holland (Michigan) and Manistee (Michigan). The Chicago fire is the most well known of them because it left almost 100,000 people homeless. But the Peshtigo Fire killed around 2,500 people. The casualty count made it the deadliest fire in US history.

In 1882, at the age of merely 11 years old, Edward was alive when on January 5th, writer and lawyer Charles J. Guiteau was found guilty of the assassination of President Garfield. Guiteau was "offended" because his job applications had been rejected by Garfield's government. He was sentenced to death -although his lawyer plead insanity - and hanged five months later, on June 30th.
