Edward Voumard of Grah Australia was born in 1892 to Louis Voumard and Rose Byrne Voumard. He had siblings Albert Voumard, Edward Voumard, Louis Voumard, Alice Voumard, Francis Albert Voumard, Ida Ann Voumard, and Louis Voumard. Edward Voumard died at age 87 years old in 1979 in Grah.

In 1892, in the year that Edward Voumard was born, on October 5th, the Dalton Gang was shot. The Gang was attempting to rob two banks - simultaneously - in Coffeyville Kansas but word spread of the robberies and townspeople with guns greeted them when they left the banks. Four members of the gang were killed - only Emmett Dalton survived his wounds and spent 14 years in prison.

In 1903, by the time he was just 11 years old, the book The Souls of Black Folk, written by W. E. B. Du Bois, was published. Containing several essays on the African-American experience in America, much of the book was based on Du Bois' own life. The book was one of the very early works in the science of sociology.
