my greatest Dad- loving, forgiving, slow to anger, kind, helpful, humble. "to love is to be loved." ww2 usarmy veteran- scout, in the pacific theater. gregarious, jovial, sharp dresser, discipline, knowledgeable--love to read, sense of humor. "pulled from his bootstrap, us army, prior- no shoes, as a farmer, strong as an ox per my mom." retired as civilian employee for us dod, then emigrated to usa- chevron research company- retired, real estate, entrepreneur his entire life. fridge always full. bowler, gardener, notary, ( bourbon, cognac, whiskey, beer--ptsd or shell shocked, smoker but stopped cold turkey. ). did not talk much of ww2- " i'm just doing my job, i answered the call in defending my country, freedom, liberty, justice for all in pursuit of my constitutional happiness." he helped without asking anything in return. a handshake is a contract. yes is yes, no is no. an agreement he honored. no bs given and no bs accepted. church goer, ethical, moral, rebel with a cause, practiced the golden rule, spiritual, fun loving, great provider, loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather. my parents legacy is their 7kids. thanks Dad.
