    Elijah / Elisha was born Elisha Harvey Padgett to Rhoda "Roadey" Padgett a Native American (Shawnee) woman. Paternity was acknowledged by his biological father Alpheus Beall Sr (1796 - 1848) of Upson GA, and legitimised by adoption, and his legal surname became Beall, by an Act of the Georgia State legislature 23 Dec 1843. He married Columbia GA 11 Jun 1840 to Martha Eliza Miles (1823 - 1888).
