She was married to John Francis Quinlan in 1897, and had children Gladys Mary Quinlan, Veronica Quinlan, John Leopold Quinlan, Raymond Francis Quinlan, Cyril Gerard Quinlan, and Clement Joseph Quinlan. Elizabeth Quinlan died at age 89 years old in 1965 in Brunswick, City of Merri-bek County.

A month later, on March 7th, Bell was granted the patent and on the 10th, he made his first successful telephone call - in which he said: "Mr. Watson, come here, I want to see you."
