Obituary

The Age, Melbourne. 12th June 1919. SPRAGUE. - On the 11th June ( suddenly ), at the residence of her son-in-law, Mr. W. Loats, Balliang, Elizabeth Mary, dearly beloved wife of John Sprague, 985 Rathdown-street, North Carlton, formerly of Hamilton and Stawell, and dearly loved mother of Jack, Emily, Annie ( Mrs. W. Loats ), Will, Ethel ( Mrs. S. Payne ) and Hilda. Aged 65 years. The Melton Express. Victoria. 14th June 1919. BALLIANG. While on a visit to her daughter ( Mrs. W. T. Loats ) Mrs. Sprague, wife of Mr. J. Sprague, of Rathdowne Street, Carlton, was seized by a stroke on Wednesday morning last, Mr. Loats' neighbour ( Mr. J. Heinrich ), motored in for Doctor McDonald, but medical advice was to no avail, and the patient quietly succumbed at about 1 p.m. The funeral left Mr. Loats' residence at 9 a.m. Friday for the Bacchus Marsh railway station, on route to the Coburg Cemetery.
