Elizabeth T. Fitzpatrick was the principal at Bay Ridge High School. She was a very caring principal and helped me get an Academic Diploma. She had a wonderful effect on my life and I will always appreciate her kindness and generosity.
Elizabeth Tierney Fitzpatrick was the daughter of Francis J. Fitzpatrick and Mary Tierney Fitzpatrick and the granddaughter of Lancelot J. Tierney. Her father was a college graduate and her mother attended college for a year until she gave birth to her first child, Tobias. Her grandfather was also a college graduate. She majored in Zoology. Her brother was Tobias Fitzpatrick. Her younger sisters were Dorothy R. Fitzpatrick, Margarie Fitzpatrick, and Antoinette Fitzpatrick. Their mother worked as a civil servant and her father owned his home in the Bronx.
Elizabeth T. Fitzpatrick was appointed Bay Ridge High School principal in 1936.
Miss Fitzpatrick was instrumental in fostering a climate of academic achievement.
Miss Fitzpatrick retired in 1963 having worked the longest term as principal.

This statue of St. Joan of Arc was given to Miss Fitzpatrick as a gift by the students. It became FILTHY! So I cleaned it and that made her very happy.
