Elwood Everett Richardson was born on November 6, 1911 in Ringgold, Pittsylvania County, Virginia United States to Daniel Thomas Richardson and Harriet Anne (Elliott) Richardson, and had siblings Esther Lee (Richardson) Talbott, Reuben James Richardson, Katie Sally (Richardson) Moshenek, Norman Edison Richardson Sr., and William Beverly Richardson. He married Ollie Nannie (Hopkins) Richardson on October 28, 1939 at Schoolfield in Danville, Caswell County, and they were married until Elwood's death on February 16, 1975 in Danville. He had children James David Richardson and Thomas Elwood Richardson. Elwood Richardson was buried on February 18, 1975 at Danville Memorial Gardens 510 Church Ave, in Danville.

    E. E. Richardson Dies Yesterday Elwood Everett Richardson, 63, died yesterday morning unexpectedly in his home, 166 Fox St., after a decline in health of ten years. A native of Pittsylvania County, he was born Nov. 6, 1911, a son of the late Hattie and Thomas Richardson. He had retired from the U.S. Navy after 27 years of service and was a member of Forest Lawn Baptist Church and Pittsylvania Lodge 24 of Masons. Surviving are his wife, Ollie Hopkins Richardson; two sons, Dr. James E. Richardson of Boston, Mass., and Thomas E. Richardson of Fredericksburg; one sister, Mrs. Katie Moshenek of Glenwood; one brother, Norman E. Richardson of South Boston; and a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted tomorrow at 4 p.m. at Forest Lawn Baptist Church by the Rev. Earl T. Dalton. Burial will follow in Danville Memorial Gardens. The body is at Townes Funeral Home, and the family is at the residence.
