Emily Mary (Barber) Braybrook 1888 - 1941

Emily Mary (Barber) Braybrook was born in 1888 in Mitta Mitta, VIC Australia to Samuel Barber and Mary Ann (Ellis) Barber, and had siblings Lilla (Barber) Wylie, Charles Ellis Barber, May (Barber) Peck, Henry Stephen Barber, Alfred Clemson Barber, Edward Armadale Barber, Rose Edna (Barber) Chestnut, Ivan Samuel Barber, Arthur James Barber, and Eva Levena (Barber) O'Farrell. She married Michael James Carmody in August 1905 at St. Augustine's Church, in City of Wodonga County, Victoria. She also married Laurence Braybrook in 1923, and they were married until Emily's death on September 28, 1941. They had a child Laurence Hayden Braybrook.

    The Upper Murray and Mitta Herald. 2nd October 1941. The death occurred in Melbourne on Sunday last, after a short illness, of Mrs. Emily Braybrook, wife of Mr. L. Braybrook. Deceased, who was aged 52 years, was the third daughter of the late Samuel and Mary Barber, and was a native of Mitta Mitta, her brothers are Charles ( Myrtleford ), Clem ( Melbourne ), and Steve and Jim ( Tallangatta ), Mrs. Peck ( Tallangatta ), Mrs. Chestnut ( Shepparton ) and Mrs. O'Farrell ( Fernvale ) are sisters, another sister Mrs. D. Wylie, passed away only a few months ago. The remains were interred at Springvale Cemetery.

    The Ovens & Murray Advertiser. Beechworth. 2nd September 1905. WEDDING AT WODONGA. A very quiet wedding was solemnised by Father Ryan at St. Augustine's Church, Wodonga, on Tuesday morning, the principals being Mr. M. J. Carmody, of Omeo, and Miss E. Barber, of Mitta Mitta. Miss Myrtle Meyer, Beechworth, was bridesmaid, and Mr. D. Crawford best man. After the ceremony the party adjourned to the Terminus Hotel, where the wedding breakfast was served. In the afternoon Mr. and Mrs. Carmody left by the Tallangatta train for their home at Omeo.
