He had a brother Alexander K Palmros (1909-1992) and they lived in Rome, New York, USA and West Chester, Chester, Pennsylvania. He married Sylvia Lynn Ray Palmros (October 3, 1935-October 2, 2015) on May 20, 1963 in Texas. The couple had five children together including sons Forest Ray and James Nelson. The couple was married for 12 years and divorced on January 10, 1975. Eric served in the US Air Force for four years from February 3, 1951 until February 2, 1955.
