Eric N Lasry became a good friend after meeting him in Madrid in the 1970s. A friend called me from Paris telling me he would contact me. After the first meeting we met very often enjoying meals together and talk. He had a beautiful voice and a wonderful sense of humor. He would often call me and we’d tell each other about our daily lives. He was very generous in inviting me to many meals and we both introduced mutual friends to each other. We’d to out for cocktails and parties and stayed in touch over 7 years. He lived in the Eurobuilding Hotel throughout his stay in Madrid. I would tell him about my latest boyfriend as ours was mainly just a pleasant friendship which we both enjoyed. He finally met a Spanish girl and I saw less of him. I think he went to live is Switzerland. He had mixed feelings about Spain. In the end he told me he wasn’t able to see me anymore which upset me at the time. However I will never forget my friend Eric to whom I became very attached over the years and was sorry to loose his very entertaining and often charming company. Having just found out the sad news of his death - May the arms of his God embrace him forever …………..
