Ernie was a well respected and loyal friend of Art Dawson and family. Ernie was in a traveling Jazz band in the 30's, a boxer and a business owner with Bryant's Tree Service in beginning in the 50's and until his death in 1995. Ernie was married early in life, and his wife passed in the 50's (name unknown). He was married late in life to Carolyn. Ernie owned several older homes on his block, and had the dream of rehabilitating the property to help people who needed a home instead of apartment to live in. Ernie played the bass, and piano and gave my brother and I piano lessons when we were children. He was a great cook and was especially proud of his pineapple upside down cake. He is missed.
