Ernest Thompson Seton with Blackfeet Indians
Ernest Thompson Seton, sitting with three Blackfeet Indians, who are demonstrating how to start a fire using a bow and a stick.

Ernest Thompson Seton was a Scots-Canadian (emigrating from the U.K to Canada in 1866) who later became a U.S. citizen. He was one of the founders of the Boy Scouts of America and also started a boy's club (that later admitted girls) called the Woodcraft Indians.

What I love about this photo is that it isn't staged. Most photos of Native Americans are stiff/formal. This photo is of a group of men, sharing information.
