Esther Polisky was born on December 25th, 1908 in Russia to Aaron and Yetta Polisky. She had siblings Jean and Ida. The family immigrated to the United States and Esther became a naturalized citizen of the United States. Esther Polisky married Max Brockman on October 14th, 1929 in Manhattan, New York City, New York. Esther and Max had sons Louis and Cary Brockman. When she was 31 years old, Esther Brockman was living with her mother-in law, Rebecca Brockman, and her husband Mack Brockman, age 35, and her son, Louis Brockmen, age 9. Also in the household were her husband's brothers, Harry and Sam, and sister, Jean. After immigrating from Russia, Esther and her family settled in New York City, where she married and started her own family. She moved to Florida later in life, where she died at the age of 82 and is buried with her husband, Mack.

She is buried in Star of David Memorial Gardens Cemetery and Funeral Chapel in North Lauderdale, Broward County, Florida, along with her husband, Max.

In 1930, when Esther was 21 years old, she worked as a switchboard operator in an office in New York City. Twenty years later, when she was 41 years old, Esther was a typist in a mail order house in the Bronx, New York.
