Esther (McKenna) Meramble was born on March 18th, 1902 in Connecticut to David McKenna, born 1871 and Esther, born 1872. Both of her parents were born in Ireland. She had two sisters, Margaret, born 1900, and Elizabeth (1905 - 1978). Margaret McKenna married Eugene William Maramble (1894 - 1964) on April 24th, 1928 in Watebury, Connecticut. They had one daughter, Esther Ann Meramble (1935 - 2017) and one son, Eugene D. Meramble. Margaret died at the age of 73 in Colts Neck, New Jersey. See Esther Meramble: Obituary.

Esther was born in Waterbury, Connecticut, where she lived most of her life. She moved to Colts Neck, New Jersey, a year before she died.

When Esther was 37 years old, she said that she had completed one year of high school.

In 1950, when Esther was 48 years old, she was working as a telephone operator in a hospital in Waterbury, Connecticut. Twenty years earlier, in 1930, Esther was working as a saleslady in a grocery.

Esther married Eugene William Meramble and they had two children: a daughter, Esther, and a son, Eugene. She was survived by 13 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

MRS. ESTHER MERAMBLE COLTS NECK - Mrs. Esther Meramble, 73, of 37 Carriage Hill Road, died Saturday at Bayshore Community Hospital, Homdel. She was born in Waterbury, and moved here last year. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Arthur Hessburg of Grosse Point, Michigan; a son, Eugene D. Meramble, here; a sister, Mrs. Lois Carrington of Waterbury; 13 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
