Introduction

Eugene was born in Kansas City Kansas and lived in Quindaro when he was five. He had a brother William and a sister Floret. He was married to Pauline Wax and they both lived in Kansas City. He was a teamster and drove trucks until he retired living at Willow Creek Apartments in Kansas City up until he passed away. He was a Freemason and was very proud that he was a coach using the "mouth to ear" rather than a cipher to teach the work. He had three children, Phillip, Judy and Bettie. He is buried at Mount Moriah Cemetery in Kansas City.

In 1943, at the age of 29 years old, Eugene was alive when on September 3rd, the Armistice of Cassibile was signed in Sicily. Under the terms of the Armistice, Italy surrendered to the Allied Powers. After the Armistice was made public on September 8th, Germany attacked and occupied Italy. It took 20 months of fighting for the Allies to reach the northern borders of Italy.
