    Birth: Aug. 22, 1918 Jerome Jerome County Idaho, USA Death: May 11, 1976 "Santa Barbara News-Press" of May 12, 1976, pg. B-7 Eugene Baciu Eugene Baciu, 57, of 247 W. Alamar Ave., a 35-year resident of Santa Barbara and a long-time member of the Santa Barbara Sportfishermen's Club, died late yesterday after a long illness with cancer. Mr. Baciu was considered one of the most knowledgeable trout fisherman in the area. For years he led the Santa Barbara trout fishing contingent to the Sierra for the opening of the fishing season there. Born in Jerome, Idaho, Aug. 22, 1918, he grew up in Washington State and Los Angeles. He was president of Mistletoe Sales, Inc., here, a wholesale seed company, and belonged to the American Association of Nurserymen, California Association of Nurserymen, International Association of Arboriculture, Plant Propagators Society and the Santa Barbara Horticulture Society. Surviving are his wife, Oda Elizabeth Baciu; a daughter, Mrs. Linda Bensinger of Simi Valley; his mother, Mrs. George Baciu of Santa Maria; a brother, Philip, of Santa Maria; seven sisters, Mrs. J. W. Bolton of La Jolla, Mrs. James Hosn of Santa Maria, Mrs. Thomas McLeod of Pacific Palisades, Mrs. Harold R. Johnson of Potomac, Md., Mrs. Sharon Takiff of Woodland Hills, Georgia Baciu of Cupertino, and Mrs. Edward Shockley of Walnut, and a grandchild. Services will be Friday at 1 p.m. in the Welch-Ryce Associates chapel. The Rev. Paul M. Gammons will officiate. Interment will be in Santa Barbara Cemetery.
