    Gene loved his family. His wife Rita and only child Harold were his focus. His siblings were also a big part of his life. His brothers Jim and Nick and his sisters Honey and Sally played a large part in his life in Dayton. He loved to travel. In 1948 he, Rita and Harold made a trip to New York to see the big city as well as Niagara Falls. In 1949 the three traveled west to visit Yellowstone National Park, the Grand Canyon, and other sites in the west. In retirement he and Rita enjoyed travels to Hawaii and regular vacations to Florida.

    Born in Dayton, Ohio, son of Jay Arthur and Hilda (Lommel) Weller. Married Rita May Glaser February 14, 1940. Father of one son: Harold Leighton Weller b. July 6, 1941. Nickname "Bud". Worked as an automobile salesman at White-Allen Chevrolet and Rubicon Cadillac. After retirement, he volunteered as a delivery man for Meals on Wheels. Bud was a kind and generous husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather, and will be remembered fondly by all who were fortunate to know him.
